NCAAF Pick: Arizona – 4 vs. Colorado

Disclaimer: Arizona has been pitiful under new coach Kevin Sumlin and his chosen OC Noel Mazzone. Pre-season Heisman favorite Khalil Tate, has been hobbled all season and the offense has failed to score over 23 in all but two games he started. But this all changed against Oregon. A stunning 29-point victory will have the Wildcats firing on all cylinders against a Colorado team that gave up one of the most improbable comebacks to arguably college football’s worst team just last week. Lay the points and feel free to spend that money on all the discount candy you can buy.

NFL Pick: Washington – 1.5 vs. Atlanta

The Falcons defense has been abysmal this season ranking 31st in DVOA following Week Seven. On the opposite side, Washington is hot having won three straight as they find themselves a game and a half up on the rest of the NFC East.

In the NFL, home field advantage is worth three points meaning that if this game was played at a neutral site Atlanta would be favored by a 1.5 points. Washington is simply not a point and a half worse than this Atlanta team who struggles on outdoor grass surfaces, so take the Skins and lay the points.

Wake Pick: Syracuse – 4 @ Wake Forest

This pick is all about consistency and betting against what we don’t know. What we do know is that Syracuse is going to put up points — and lots of them. The only game in which they have failed to score 30 points was against Clemson and they still scored 23.

On the other hand, Wake Forest and their untrustworthy freshman quarterback have been erratic on offense ranging from last weekend’s domination of Louisville to a head scratching blowout at the mercy of Clemson.

If you can’t resist the urge to back your Deacon pride, however, bet the Deacs’ moneyline for the highest value. In a game that is all but guaranteed to be high-scoring (the over/under is 75), there is a higher variance in the result, meaning points ATS are less valuable. Unfortunately for the Deacs, Halloweek will continue as the Orange run circles around their defense.

Random Pick: Oregon – 9 vs. UCLA

This week’s non-football related pick is the Oregon Ducks laying just over a touchdown at home against the UCLA Bruins.

Why? Because although we know Oregon as the team with the cool uniforms, these are insane.

Arguably the greatest uniforms to ever grace the grass they play upon, there is simply no way anyone could play poorly in these. The Ducks are embarrassed following two straight losses and will destroy the two-win Bruins by at least two touchdowns. Look up “Oregon Jordan Brand Jerseys”, and go order one for yourself because these bets are cashing.
