Horton believes that one of the main challenges for Wake Forest students is that the student body doesn’t know what Student Government does or why the administration makes certain decisions. If elected, she wants to increase transparency by working with the administration and the Faculty Senate to hold office hours, forums, and town halls where students can voice their concerns and speak directly with their representatives and the administration. Horton also wants to begin a weekly Student Government email so that the student body stays updated on Student Government events and legislative progress.

If elected, Horton would partner with on-campus organizations and the Winston-Salem community to support Wake Forest students and better the Winston-Salem community as whole. Her platform also includes increasing the number of blue lights on campus, creating a crosswalk on Long Road, providing adequate condoms in residence halls and lowering parking ticket fees.
