In the late 1960’s I was fortunate to live downtown tutoring minority students in a BSU/First Baptist supported house. It ended abruptly with the assassination of Dr King, as the effort was felt to have become unsafe. What was amazing to me was the lack of discussions on campus and at my church’s Sunday services. I was hoping that almost 50 years later the silence would have been broken.
