Theatre and Dance
Theatre and dance are alive and flourishing at Wake Forest this Spring! The Anthony Aston Players will host a range of classic and contemporary productions from Harold Pinter’s “Old Times” to the musical adaptation of Cody Diablo’s “Jagged Little Pill.” Here are some of the upcoming performances at Tedford Stage in Scales Fine Arts Center, as well as a look ahead to the Spring Student Choreographic Concert.
“Old Times”
Directed by Cindy Gendrich
Feb. 6-7 and 12-14 at 7:30 p.m.
Ring Theatre, Scales Fine Arts Center
“Old Times. Harold Pinter’s three-person masterpiece about jealousy, sex and power of memory. Gripping. Elusive. Funny. Elemental.”
“Jagged Little Pill: The Musical”
Lyrics by Alanis Morissette and Glen Ballard
Directed by Stephen Wrentmore
April 3-4 and 8-11 at 7:30 p.m.
April 12 at 2 p.m.
Tedford Stage
The Wake Forest Theatre and Dance Department described “Jagged Little Pill: The Musical” as full of “rawness, messiness and hope.”
“Drawn from Alanis Morissette’s 1995 Grammy-winning album, this Tony-award-winning musical delves into the contradictory nature of being a contemporary American family,” the department wrote on its website. “This redemptive musical follows the seemingly perfect Healy family as their lives unravel, revealing truths about addiction, trauma, identity and love.”
